Michael Meier has practiced law in Victoria, Texas since 1979. He is a native of Cuero, Texas and attended public schools there and in Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Law School (B.A. with honors, 1973; Phi Beta Kappa; J.D. with honors, 1976) and was admitted to practice in the state courts of Texas in 1976 and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas in 1978. In 1975 and from 1976 to 1982, he worked in legal services programs providing representation to indigent clients in consumer, family law, and civil rights cases in South Texas. He became associated with the law firm then known as Kelly, Stephenson & Marr in 1982 and has practiced since that time primarily in the areas of commercial and banking law, real estate, probate and trust, and oil and gas matters. He has been a partner in the firm since 1985. He has served as a member of the adjunct faculty of The Victoria College, teaching real estate law, and as an advisor and board member of local non-profit organizations.
